Pune – Maharashtra Health Minister Prakash Abitkar has stated that three separate departments are investigating the death of pregnant woman Tanisha Bhise at Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital.He informed the media that inquiries are being conducted by the state’s Law Department, Health Department, and Pune’s Sassoon Hospital. The hospital operates under the Charitable Trust Act, hence the legal scrutiny.

Deputy CM Ajit Pawar responded to the demand for Dhananjay Munde’s return to the cabinet, stating that no decision will be made until the ongoing investigations are complete. “A CID probe, police inquiry, and SIT investigation are underway. Once reports are submitted, the CM and both Deputy CMs will decide accordingly,” he said.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam strongly defended the inclusion of Hindi as a compulsory language in Maharashtra schools, stating that there is nothing wrong in learning the national language. Devendra Fadanvis clarified that the New Education Policy was introduced earlier. The Maharashtra government is set to implement the New Education Policy (NEP) from the upcoming academic year, starting June 2024. Under this policy, Hindi will be introduced as a compulsory third language alongside Marathi and English for students from Classes 1 to 5 across Marathi and English medium schools.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut launched attack on BJP leader Girish Mahajan over the demand for a national holiday on Shiv Jayanti. Raut alleged that Mahajan is “mentally disturbed” and entangled in several legal issues, suggesting he was not aware that Uddhav Thackeray had called for a nationwide holiday on the occasion of Shiv Jayanti.“Maharashtra already observes the holiday, but the demand is to declare it across the country. Mahajan should listen properly—remove the cotton from his ears,” Raut said mockingly.Raut also criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent speech at Raigad, claiming that many statements were historically inaccurate and that Shah referred to Shivaji Maharaj disrespectfully. He added, “If you truly respect Shivaji Maharaj, declare a national holiday on his birth anniversary.”
