A major Farmer Fund scam involving ₹50 crore has surfaced in Jalna district. department officials allegedly misused Tahsildar login credentials to fraudulently claim excess crop damage compensation meant for farmers affected by excessive rainfall in 2022-23. A three-member investigation committee—comprising Assistant Collector Pulkit Singh, Deputy Collector Manisha Dandge, and Naib Tehsildar Neelam Lunawat—was formed after complaints surfaced in late 2023. The probe found instances of duplicate beneficiaries, forged documents, and fabricated lists submitted by village-level officials including Talathis and Gram Sevaks across 75 to 80 villages in Ambad and Ghansawangi talukas.
